The MPL Association is offering two tours showcasing beautiful Salt Lake City and its surroundings.
Friday, May 13 – 2:00-5:00 p.m.
GENEALOGY AND TEMPLE SQUARE TOUR
Start at the world-famous Family History Library located in downtown Salt Lake City. The Family History Library houses the largest collection of genealogical materials in the world. Guests will be greeted by a host and given a behind the scenes tour and will be able to participate in an engaging, interactive discovery into their own personal family history. Next, guests head to Temple Square, the five-block area surrounding the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In Temple Square guests will explore the North Visitors Center, the Tabernacle building, and the beautiful temple grounds.Schedule
PARK CITY AND UTAH OLYMPIC PARK TOUR
Put on your walking shoes and explore Park City’s Historic Main Street. Learn about the architecture and stories of Park City’s unique history, from the days as a booming mine town to an emerging ski town. Park City’s has a rich and storied past: it began as a raucous silver town, nearly faded into history as a ghost town, and then reinvented itself as a ski town that grew into a world-class destination and host to global events such as the 2002 Winter Olympics and the Sundance Film Festival. Guests can participate in a guided walking tour down main street or can shop at leisure.
After lunch, guests will head to the Utah Olympic Park to learn about the amazing stories of Olympic achievement. The tour offers a behind-the-scenes tour that is not offered to the public. Guests will get to see the start of the bobsled tracks and will learn what makes these tracks the fastest on earth. They will get to stand at the top of the world’s highest Nordic ski jumps and one of the fastest sliding tracks in the world.Schedule
