Colin S. Bell

Colin S. Bell, DDS, MSD is a practicing oral and maxillofacial surgeon in the Dallas metropolitan area. He completed his undergraduate education at Southern Methodist University and received his dental degree from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1979. He completed his residency at Baylor University Medical Center in 1984. He is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Baylor College of Dentistry/Texas A&M Health Science Center. Dr. Bell has been certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery since 1986, has served as an ABOMS examiner for nine years, was elected as a director of the ABOMS in 2009, and is past president of the ABOMS board of directors.

Dr. Bell served on the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Political Action Committee and was the Chairman of OMSPAC in 2009. He is the past president of the Texas Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons as well as the Southwest Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Dr. Bell is a fellow of the American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists. He has served on several AAOMS committees including the Special Committee on Coding and Nomenclature and the Committee on Practice Management and Professional and Allied Staff. Dr. Bell has served in the AAOMS House of Delegates since 2005 and was a CODA site evaluator for 10 years. In 2013 he received the AAOMS Presidential Achievement Award. He has served on OMSNIC’s Underwriting Appeals and Underwriting Review Committees, the Advisory Board, and Patient Safety and Risk Management Committee. He has been a director of OMSNIC since 2016 and of Fortress since 2017.

Patti DiGangi

Patti DiGangi, RDH, BS has assisted thousands of professionals to code more accurately and efficiently. In fact, the American Dental Association recognized her expertise by inviting her to write a chapter in its CDT 2017 Companion book and again for CDT 2018 Companion. Ms. DiGangi holds publishing and speaking licenses with ADA for Current Dental Terminology 2018 and a license for SNODENT 2018 diagnostic coding. She shares her insights and expertise through her 2018 book: Teledentistry Pathway to Prosperity.

Anthony C. Gruppo

Anthony C. Gruppo is highly skilled in the areas of property/casualty, employee benefits, and risk management. He has trained and educated clients, employees, insurance companies, and underwriters in both property/casualty and employee benefits around the country.

Currently, Mr. Gruppo is the CEO of the Northeast region for Marsh & McLennan Agency. Prior to joining Marsh & McLennan Agency, he led companies in the southwest, southeast and the west coast. He founded the Lehr companies which educated insurance companies and clients on state-of-the-art risk-management interventions. While at Lehr, he initiated, developed, and grew 15 successful, industry specific, comprehensive state and national association insurance and risk management programs. He designed and established the PCPA Worker’s Compensation Trust, the first non-governmental worker’s compensation self-insured fund in Pennsylvania.
In his current role at Marsh & McLennan Agency, Mr. Gruppo is responsible for leading all employees, divisions, and operations. He has more than 30 years of experience driving profitable organic growth.

Rory Eric Jurman

Rory Eric Jurman, Esq. provides coverage advice concerning virtually every type of general, excess and professional liability insurance policy, including employment practices liability, directors and officers liability and malpractice/errors or omissions policies for various professions. He handles the investigation and evaluation of multi-faceted and high-exposure claims, including class actions and complex coverage issues. He has litigated numerous trials through appeal, including multi-party cases, and major declaratory judgment, liability and rescission actions.

In addition to his legal work in the insurance industry, Mr. Jurman also handles a broad range of litigation matters. His practice includes the defense of medical professionals, life science companies, professional negligence matters, defense of Life and Disability Insurance matters, commercial litigation and products liability. He has litigated, arbitrated and mediated cases throughout Florida.

Mr. Jurman previously practiced in New York and served as counsel to a leading, multinational insurer. He currently leads a team of eight attorneys in the firm’s Fort Lauderdale office and has been AV Preeminent Peer-Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell for over 10 years.

Paul-Michael LaFayette

Paul-Michael LaFayette, JD concentrates his practice in the areas of professional liability defense, including the defense of dentists, physicians, real estate agents and attorneys. He represents professionals in administrative licensure proceedings before their professional Boards. Mr. LaFayette also represents governmental entities in litigation and as general counsel. He defends clients in lawsuits involving professional malpractice, premises liability, contracts, employment, construction, civil rights, zoning, wrongful death and products liability. Mr. LaFayette also represents dentists with employment contracts and purchase and sales agreements.

His prior experience includes the honor of having served as a staff attorney for the Ohio Supreme Court and as an Assistant Attorney General in the Court of Claims Defense Section. He served as the director of Legal and Legislative Services with the Ohio Dental Association where he provided legal advice to the Association’s membership and lobbied in the Ohio General Assembly on healthcare issues and administrative law reform.

Michael R. Ragan

Michael R. Ragan, DMD, JD, LLM is managing partner of a Miami-based law firm with 25 years of experience as a defense trial attorney. He received his undergraduate degree from Syracuse University, a DMD. from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, a JD from Georgetown University Law Center, and an LLM in Health Law from Loyola University College of Law. Dr. Ragan has held academic appointments at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, the University of Florida College of Dentistry, and the Georgetown University Dental School.

Dr. Ragan is presently Adjunct Professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Nova Southeastern College of Dental Medicine. Dr. Ragan practiced dentistry for 15 years and also spent seven years supervising healthcare professional liability claims within the insurance industry. Dr. Ragan is a Medico-Legal Consultant to the Fortress Insurance Company. He is a Fellow of the American College Of Dentists, the International College of Dentists, and the American College of Legal Medicine.
