This live group meeting is designed to provide insights from the top experts in the medical liability profession. The meeting will cover emerging issues, new ideas for current challenges, and best practices in the MPL organizations.

- Evaluate the differences in tort law on a state-by-state business and how those differences might shape a carrier’s approach to operating in those markets.
- Identify international healthcare trends and evaluate the potential impact.
- Examine critical trends in medical professional liability claims and gain insights into evolving claim dynamics.
- Understand the current environment for reinsurance purchasers and evaluate the challenges and opportunities that will impact stakeholders.
- Identify ways to effectively communicate about an institution to a jury to protect healthcare client(s) and move cases to a favorable resolution.
- Learn the trends and emerging and receding malpractice risks providers should be aware of for the three high risk disciplines of Obstetrics/Gynecology, Internal Medicine, and Surgery.
- Examine patient handoff-related risk through a hospital/health system and risk management lens, drawing on an analysis of claims and root causes, as well as patterns of contributing factors in adverse events and medical errors to determine strategies to improve performance
- Discover how hospitals and institutions can empower physicians to become more impactful in the defense of a lawsuit and ultimately contribute to improved claims resolution.
- Learn how federal government policies may impact medical professional liability in the year ahead and develop strategies for addressing changes in the healthcare marketplace.
- Identify strategies for improving team performance in healthcare organizations.
- Analyze financial data to predict trends and prepare for future challenges in the medical professional liability industry.
Continuing Medical Education
The MPL Association is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The MPL Association designates these sessions as internet live and internet activity enduring material activity for a maximum of 7.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
Continuing Education for Dentists
The MPL Association is an ADA CERP-recognized provider. ADA CERP is a service of the American Dental Association to assist dental professionals in identifying quality providers of continuing dental education. ADA CERP does not approve or endorse individual courses or instructors, nor does it imply acceptance of credit hours by the boards of dentistry.
The MPL Association designates this activity for a maximum of 7.5 continuing education credits.

Continuing Professional Education (Accountants)
The MPL Association is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit. The MPL Association designates this group live activity for up to 7.8 CPE credits. For CPE credits through NASBA, the MPL Conference is at an intermediate/advance level with a prerequisite of two years of industry knowledge or comparable training and/or education. Continuing Legal Education
This course has been approved by the Mandatory Continuing Legal Commission of Alabama for a maximum of 7.5 continuing legal education credits (CLE). States supporting CLE reciprocity include AK, AR, AZ, CA, CO, CT. FL, HI, KS, ME, NJ, ND, WV and WI. Applicants are responsible for verifying individual state CLE reciprocity regulations and requirements.
